Wonderful Halos DIY “Valentine’s Day Monsters” Candy-Free Holiday Treat / Snack Idea
What you'll need:
- Wonderful Halos California mandarins
- Pipe cleaners cut in half (each pipe cleaner makes 2 heart ears )
- Googly eyes
- Felt
- Scissors
- Glue Dots or low-temp hot glue gun/ low temp hot glue sticks
- Optional: Heart candy stickers / heart shaped stickers
- Start by fashioning each half of the pipe cleaner into a heart shape; twist bottom ends together and bend the bottom slightly to the back.
- Once heart “ears” are fashioned, affix the bottom bent ends of the pipe cleaner heart to the top of the Halos mandarin using a Glue Dot or a dab of low-temp hot glue. If using low-temp hot glue hold in place until the glue has dried/set. Repeat to affix the second heart shaped "ear."
- Use scissors to cut a heart shape from the felt.
- Use a Glue Dot or a small dab of low-temp hot glue, to affix felt heart to the bottom of the Halos mandarin, leaving the top of the heart sticking out to create “feet."
- Use a Glue Dot or a small dab of low-temp hot glue to affix two googly eyes to the front of the Halos mandarin.
- Optional: Decorate with heart candy stickers / heart shaped stickers, as desired.
