During the Holiday Season American Girl dolls, books and accessories top the wish lists' of many young girls nationwide. We often are asked, "why choose American Girl versus some of the other doll makers?" Our answer always remains the same; because there are wholly unique in so many ways and American Girl is about so much more than just dolls.
As a child I absolutely LOVED exploring the storyline's of Felicity, Molly and Samantha! Though American Girl was brand new at the time, I credit the storyline's of these books with inspiring my love of reading. Now as a mother, American Girl has come to be just as special to our daughter.

Historical American Girl dolls come with the first story in their series, giving girls an introduction to the character and era. Julie [pictured above and below] introduces girls to a time period that many moms can relate to [because they lived it!] the 1970's. Julie is currently the most recent era featured in the Historical series from American Girl.
She arrives in gorgeous historically accurate outfit that is comprised of a a white gauze shirt [tied at the waist with a suede braided belt complete with beads!] layered over a colorful turtle neck. Her look is completed with two-tone bell bottom denim jeans and super cute suede wedge sandals.
Julie's storyline paints a clear picture of the changing times in the 1970's and follows this incredibly creative Californian"American Girl" as she tries to find her place. From her inspiring storyline, to her outfit and straightened hair [with front/side braid ]-- American Girl has done an incredible job of accurately depicting this time period for young girls.
