Our Experience
Although I hadn't had the chance to see The Help when it was in theaters, I did read the book, and it was definitely a phenomenal inspiring read . When The Help arrived, I was interested to see how the poignant story (deeply rooted with some very real history) would play out in the movie. The Help has to be the very best (hands down) book to movie that I've ever experienced! They accurately portrayed each and every character in the book, in the movie. The Help follows the lives of several southern maids and the women that they worked for during a time of segregation, and accurately depicts the great deal of injustice that they endured.
It all begins to change in the small town where the story is set, after one pioneering writer decides to expose the affluent women who hire these maids to raise their children and do all of their dirty work, only to have time to themselves for socializing and self maintenance.
The Help will take you on a inspiring journey, where good ultimately prevails. You'll laugh, cry, and cheer as these women find themselves and stake claim on what is rightfully deserved. Respect and equality.
The Help is an absolute MUST SEE film, and would make an excellent stocking stuffer, or gift this Holiday season!
