A Little Bit About the R/C Animated Solar System
~ from ThinkGeek
What must it really be like to float above the solar system? We have no idea. We do know, however, what it feels like to float below it. And with the R/C Animated Solar System Mobile, you can too. It's like having an orbiting solar system right in your room!
Now your kids (though it looks awesome in adult bedrooms, as well) can explore the wonders of the solar system right in their own room! They just have to look up at the ceiling and watch as all nine planets (well, eight planets and one sad ex-planet) orbit around the light-up sun. Listen as the audio CD takes them on a fascinating tour of our solar system. Use the included light-pointer to locate each planet and make comets and meteors streak through the night sky. And with the auto shut off feature, you can set it and forget it (while your little star babies drift off to sleep) and the planets will whirl and the sun will shine and the whole thing will stop after your children are in the land of nod.
Our Experience with the R/C Animated Solar System
~from ThinkGeek
B is quite the little scholar and Love's every opportunity presented to him that offers a learning experience. Browsing through ThinkGeek's site, his mind was made up when he seen this awesome display of our Solar System. Once installed ( quick and easy, all you need is a step ladder and a screw driver) it's really neat to lay back and watch as the planet's rotate around the bright light of the sun. The included CD is very informative and a great teaching / learning tool for parent's and young children. The Solar system is activated nightly by the remote control , and B drifts off to sleep looking at this great display above him. He LOVE'S it ( as do the rest of us )!
