A Little Bit About Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamp's
The beautiful warm glow of a Salt Crystal Lamp creates a soothing, relaxing atmosphere in any room. They can be used in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, offices, meditation rooms, therapy rooms, waiting rooms and for Feng Shui energy. The lamps' healing and purifying properties make them ideal around televisions, computers and cigarette smoke. Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamps are crafted by hand to retain their unique natural shape. The lit bulb warms the salt and sends light that flows through the crystal releasing large quantities of healthy negative ions which improve the quality and freshness of the air. While most ionizers are man-made machines, salt crystal lamps are a natural and beautiful alternative from Mother Nature. Salt crystals were formed hundreds of million of years ago at the foothills of the Himalayas, when the salt lakes dried up. The crystalline structure of the rock salt was formed via gradual evaporation and the enormous pressures inside the earth due to the forming mountains.
Natural inclusions such as iron (red) or manganese (yellow) give the crystal such beautiful colors ranging from light apricot to a dark orange.
Recently, I had the opportunity to review a natural shape (3-5 LB) Himalayan salt Crystal Lamp (pictured above) from the Himalayan Salt Shop, and was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous light that it gives off when it's turned on . Offering a warm inviting glow, that is reminiscent of candle light; the Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamp is unlike any other lamp I've seen. The lamp is free standing with a wooden base (and a light insert), and is now adding the perfect cozy touch to my office. With the added benefit of naturally cleansing the air, I've noticed that my space now smells crisper and cleaner. I have horrible allergies, and I'm hoping that it will help battle some of my issues with air-born dust. The Himalayan Salt Shop offers a variety of lamp's (available in different sizes & shapes) and beautiful candle holder's. Add a special touch to your own home, or give a unique gift that's sure to impress!
